VI is free of active COVID-19 cases again!
This was revealed by Government on Sunday, October 25, 2020.
After being COVID-19 free earlier this month, the Territory had one reported case of COVID-19 for the past two weeks and the infected person was someone who had returned to the Territory and was quarantined.
“No active confirmed COVID-19 cases in the BVI as of 25th October 2020. Thank GOD for this good news. We commend the efforts of everyone especially our HEOC and Health Team in this fight against COVID-19,” Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie (R1) stated on his Facebook page on October 25, 2020.
The Territory has had a total of 72 confirmed cases, with 71 recoveries and one death.
According to Government, 5861 persons have been tested at the Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital Laboratory.
Some of the territories and countries in the Caribbean without any reported cases of COVID-19 are St Kitts, Anguilla, Saba and Montserrat.
