‘We will work until the money finishes’- Hon Vincent O. Wheatley
Hon Wheatley told our news centre there were several hundred applications to the programme.
“We will work until the money finishes, we will then do an evaluation and start a new programme,” Hon Wheatley said, as he clarified that this particular programme was not intended for the homeless, but for persons who lost their homes or had damage done to their homes during the passage of hurricanes Irma and Maria.
According to Government Information Services (GIS) on November 3, 2023, the proposed works comprise providing all plant, labour, equipment, materials, staff and all operations in connection with the proposed home renovations on Anegada.

When the government give out $18000.00 tax exemption, how do you propose the make up for this income loss? Would you be happy if there is an increase in other taxes or work permits and visas services? Do you wish for an increase in Social Security along with NHI? Do you want our already struggling Education, Health Care and Infrastructures to further suffer? Questions like these must first be answered before a decision can be made. It not as easy as you think. While I agree that they have squandered our funds, for this to take place, an increase in other areas must take place in order for the budget of the country to remain balance. To do otherwise will only have in the same boat similar as some other countries.
