They could have explored re-inforcing and covering the ghut there between Wards Building and SupaValu and put the bus station/shoulder/pull off right there to help get rid of some of the congestion in that part of town.

That would have been a great idea. It would have expanded the area for parking and waiting bases too. Do they ever come to the public to ask suggestions with these ideas? Just a waste of money. Just like that extra lane they trying to run to the jetty. Streups!

Any Taxi that picks up passengers in front of the post office should be ticketed. They stopped it years ago and then allowed the taxis to start doing it again. This is so dangerous and causes traffic jams coming around that corner. Let the public know they will NOT be picked up there anymore and let them wait at the bus stop!

Will the buses have right-hand drives for passengers to alight safely, or will they adopt left-hand drives, potentially putting passengers at risk by disembarking into oncoming traffic, a common issue seen with taxis and buses on the island?

@ I guess. The bus service will run from east to west, so why should someone from only District 5 get it?

I hope it’s also running up the country as well. We pay our taxes for public transportation services too.

Why don't yall take a few pages from the rest of the Caribbean that actually do have a competent public bus system? Take some knowledge from it and do it here. It's actually not that hard.

Those areas, Market and Post Office are choke points. Yes, the Market need urgent upgrading. Even an average thinking person can see that.

As I and many have long come to realize that politicians believe that they are wiser than Approximately 95% of the people than I trusted them to managed their affair, but moreso, as of especially, over the pass 10 years or there about the web of deception is fastly losing its grip on the minds of many.

    Suggestion 1.

The ghutter opposite the Market should first be cleaned, and paved over so that vehicles going Eastward can past behind Wards's building without having to congest any further. This surely will help for an uncertain number of years coming.

    Suggestion 2. Road-Over-Road

Because of Road town City small congested land area, we should, as like other countries have, build roads over others where needed. If we do not consider this idea now, but rather ignore its foresight, then possibly before this ongoing decade will come to an end, it will become far easier and quicker to exit school children and others from Road town by some other way, possible by sea.

    3. Suggestion. Limit Import Of Vehicles Annually.

I know that this is a like an extreme bitter pill to swallow, but if both the above suggestions are not or will not be in the short to medium term considered, then suggestion number three cannot be avoided.

The DMV should have already advised the Minister about public transportation years given that they have all the statistics to suggest that these roads in the BVI cannot sustain the congestion due to too much vehicles being imported annually. Public transportation should have been implemented years ago. Once there is a functional public transportation system, you could encourage the public to use the bus system during the work week, thus reducing traffic congestion. So much heads of Departments without common sense in their heads.

You think taximan gonna take this lying down? They don’t want any bus service that the tourists could take instead of being fleeced by them.

I hope they realize they have a buss man running west end 6 days a week. Also I hope they understand it is persons like him that choose to make less money to provide a community service who should be considered first. It cost $5 compared to the 'improved taxi association price' of $30 a taxi town to west end, up from $27.

The taxi men have never not once asked for locals to be charged less. They are part of the problem.

A set of tourist asked me where is the beach I told them take a taxi and saw them walking back minutes later. They said the taxi man tried to scam them but I said no that is the regular price they will charge a local. Even the tourist know it is robbery.

Mass transportation system require quality roads else fatalies will be unbearable with the current state of the roads. Fix the roads first Sir then you can dream about community bus services.
