VI gets first win @ Chess Olympiad in Budapest

BUDAPEST, Hungary- The Virgin Islands took its first win at the International Chess Federation (FIDE) 45th Chess Olympiad which is currently underway in Budapest, Hungary.

The win came from Jhon Samuel in the Open Division on Board 2 against Bermuda on Friday, September 13, 2024. 

The team is currently competing in Round 4 where the women are taking on Cameroon while in the Open Division, they are playing against Senegal.

This is the first time the BVI Chess Federation has a Women's team at the Chess Olympiad.
