VI defeated by T&T @ CONCACAF U17 Men’s Qualifiers

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica- After convincingly winning their opening game of the CONCACAF U17 Men’s Qualifiers in Costa Rica on February 7, 2025, the Virgin Islands suffered a slight setback in their second Group B game on February 9, 2025, when they fell to Trinidad and Tobago.

The game contested at Estadio Nacional in San José, Costa Rica saw the VI boys battle hard against a solid Trinidad and Tobago team that eventually ran out 3-1 winners.

The ‘Nature Boys’ conceded in the 6th minute when Josiah Kallicharan struck with a header in the box.

Caden Trestrail extended the lead for the Soca Warriors in the 22' after pouncing on a rebound. Kallicharan doubled his tally in the 27' to make it a three-goal lead.

Zevieh Abraham pulled one back for the Virgin Islands in the 90’+2.

VI back in action on Tuesday

The Virgin Islands now play hosts Costa Rica on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

Costa Rica earned a 12-nil victory against Sint Maarten.

The winner of the group at the end of all the games will secure a spot in the 2025 FIFA Under-17 World Cup.
