After suffering heavy back-to-back defeats, against Turks and Caicos Islands and Dominica, the VI boys closed out participation with a 2-1 victory over Anguilla.
Both of the goals came in the first half, scored by Malik Fenton and Latriel Williams. Williams had also scored in the 1-5 loss to Dominica on August 9, 2023.
Consolation win
The victory for the VI was more of a consolation as the team will not advance in the tournament.
The team returns to the Virgin Islands today, August 14, 2023.
The last time the Championship was held, back in 2019, the VI won Division C, which made them the top seed in their group for the 2023 tournament.
The other teams in the tournament include Sint Marten, St Vincent and the Grenadines, USVI, French Guiana, and Saint Maarten.
