VG Utd & Sugar Boys to clash in Terry Evans Cup
VG Utd won through, 9-1, against F.C. Sea Argo last weekend, whilst the Sugar Boys overcame Old Madrid, 2-0, to advance to the mouth-watering encounter.
Terry Nanton and Andres Bailey scored the decisive goals for the Sugar Boys, the latter firing home from almost 30 yards out to seal the win.
“It was a joy, shots like that don’t often go in, but when they do it is a beautiful thing. We are still getting match fit and the games will get harder, but it is good to get early games that are also competitive and I congratulate Old Madrid.”
Old Madrid had chances themselves and often created problems for the Sugar Boys, especially in the second half, as Kenrick Grant acknowledged “we didn’t get it right in the first half and made some defensive errors, but Sugar Boys took their chances so congrats to them. The second half we matched them and just couldn’t capitalise."
Old Madrid will move on to face the Wolues, this Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 5:00 PM, whilst the Panthers became the first team to be knocked out of the Cup after they suffered a 3-0 defeat to the Rebels.
Other games scheduled include, Rebels against F.C. Sea Argo at 7:00 PM on Saturday and then on Sunday July 2, 2017, at 5:00 PM One Love take on Islanders F.C.
