VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- The upcoming 2nd Virgin Gorda Easter Festival Forum is expected to provide an important opportunity for residents and stakeholders to influence the future direction, development and sustainability of the island’s Easter Festival.

The forum, initially scheduled for September 2, 2026, has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 5:30 PM and will be held in the Conference Room of the Flax Administration Building on Virgin Gorda.

The Virgin Islands Festivals & Fairs Committee is encouraging residents, businesses, community groups, stakeholders, and festival supporters to attend and contribute to the discussion. 

Forum will guide festival development

The forum is expected to generate recommendations on festival programming, cultural heritage, youth involvement, the promotion of local talent, and the overall development of the celebration. The ideas shared could help guide future planning and ensure that the festival remains relevant, inclusive and representative of Virgin Gorda’s culture.

Community participation could also help identify new opportunities for young people, local performers, businesses and community organisations to become more involved in the festival. 

The committee said the forum will give the public a chance to share ideas and recommendations on the future of the event. It is urging residents and other interested persons to attend and take part in shaping the continuation of the cultural celebration.

    Anyone with the courage the vision the strength and the fight to move this Easter Celebration to Lavity Stout Holiday in March, Just make the Friday a holiday..it will leave a lasting positive legacy of making needed change happen...It wont be easy...People don't accept changes easily, especially if they are not part of it or it goes against their interest and some people jusy will oppose for opposing sake, thats their MO.....Leave Christians and theie holy weekend alone. Let them be. . .

    I am just soooooo tired of the nakedness and gyrating in our faces every year. We need to return to the original parades that had meaning and respect. These parades are just vulgar and serve no purpose for the growing minds of our precious children. I wish someone in charge had the guts to put everything back in place.

    VG Resident: This is the opportunity to get it right. This celebration should not be around God Holy Week. We always say that we are a Christian community and we should respect God. No one is condemning the celebration but not on Holy Week. If we don’t make the change we would feel the wrath of God sometimes. Don’t let God have to destroy Virgin Gorda for a few ungodly people. Any country that don’t recognize him as God would perish. Government it may not be popular but please honor God. Your country would be blessed.
