VG Bayside Blazers arrive in St Maarten for BOTF Tournament
The team had its first practice session this morning, Sunday, July 14, 2024, and Head Coach Brian S. Brewley aka ‘Bash’ noted he has full confidence in the team and their skills.
VG Bayside Blazers will take on the Dominican Republic in a highly anticipated opening game this evening. On Monday, July 15, 2024, the VG Bayside Blazers take on the big team, the USA, in what is expected to be another very competitive match-up. On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, the Virgin Gorda boys take on St Maarten.
The 10-man team includes players from Virgin Gorda, Tortola, St Thomas (USVI), and the USA.
'We want to play hard'- Willock
Team Manager Julian Willock noted that, so far, he has been impressed with the talents his coaches have put together and “we plan to play hard.”
The Dreams to Reality Foundation BOTF Tournament will end on Saturday, July 20, 2024, with games every night for 1 week.
The Virgin Islands is being represented by two teams, one from Virgin Gorda and Skillful Ballers from Tortola. Skillful Ballers are coached by Ronald Simmons aka ‘Gola.’
The first game will tip off following an opening ceremony this evening at 6:00 PM at LB Scott Sports Auditorium in Philipsburg, the capital city of Dutch St Maarten.
