HANNAH’S ESTATE, Tortola, VI- The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is investigating a report of gunshots heard in the Hannah’s Estate area late evening on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

Vehicles and an apartment building sustained damages by bullets; however, no one was reportedly injured.

“Upon receiving the report, officers immediately responded to the scene. Several vehicles in the vicinity were found to have sustained damage from what appeared to be gunshots. Officers also observed damage to an apartment building in the area.

“A search of the scene and surrounding areas was conducted; however, no projectiles, spent shells, or bullet fragments were recovered. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident,” the RVIPF stated in a press release on January 13, 2025.

Public’s help needed- RVIPF

Police said the residents of the affected apartment have been provided with the necessary support and assistance from the RVIPF.

Police investigations into this matter are ongoing and the RVIPF is appealing to the public for any information that could assist with the investigation.

Anyone with information is encouraged to confidentially contact Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS) or overseas at (284) 800-8477 or the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339. Police said all information provided will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.

The RVIPF said it remains committed to ensuring public safety and working with the community to prevent and solve crimes in the Virgin Islands.

    Police want our help? They got our taxes and our liberty with the new police bill yet they could have already put up cameras, that is a school zone. Wow.

    You telling us you cant rewind the camera around those intersections nanny cay and pockwood pond to figure out which car or scooter was there at the time? But I forgot they placed cameras to watch people smoke weed and left the roads clear for the murderers to escape.

    Give me 64 cameras and they would be in position not like this security contract and funded police force. They are not serious. They want a police bill for more when they aren't doing as much as possible when they have the most funding for purchasing common sense items like road cameras around a school zone. If one of the kids got hit they would be asking for the public help...
