ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Reports just reaching Virgin Islands News Online state that a woman was hit by a vehicle in Sand Box Road, Lower Estate this afternoon, July 18, 2016.
According to the injured woman's neighbours, a vehicle ran over one of the woman's legs in an area opposite the Sand Box Play Ground in Lower Estate sometime around 5:30 P.M.
They reported that the woman, said to be in her 40s, was bleeding badly from her injuries and was subsequently taken to Peebles Hospital.
It is not clear what were the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Police and ambulance were called in.
