USVI resident sentenced for failing to register as sex offender
CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI — Jeffrey Cole, 57, of St Thomas, US Virgin Islands (USVI), was sentenced on Monday August 5, 2019 on his conviction for failing to register as a sex offender, United States Attorney Gretchen C.F. Shappert announced.
District Court Judge Curtis V. Gomez sentenced Cole to six months incarceration, three years of supervised release and a special assessment of $100. Gomez also ordered Cole to perform 100 hours of community service.
According to court records, Cole was convicted for voyeurism in the State of Ohio in 2009. He moved to the [US] Virgin Islands in 2018, and failed to register there.
This case was investigated by the United States Marshal Service, Assistant United States Attorney Everard E. Potter.
