CHRISTIANSTED, St Croix, USVI— A man who police say choked and body slammed his “intimate partner”, with whom he shares a child, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon, May 8, 2019, charged with second-degree assaulted and remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing, [US] Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) Public Information Officer Glen Dratte has announced.
According to Mr Dratte, the victim told police that she was dropping off the child to the father, Victor Vargas, however when she entered the apartment in Christiansted she was greeted by an unknown woman.
It is not clear what happened when the victim saw the other woman, but Mr Dratte said that Mr Vargas became enraged and an argument ensued between the victim and Mr Vargas.
The female victim further stated that Mr Vargas body slammed her to the floor, got on top of her and started strangling her until she could no longer breathe. Other witnesses present during the altercation confirmed the victim’s statement to police, Mr Dratte said.
At about 1:39 pm on Wednesday, police arrested the suspect. No bail was given, keeping in line with the territory’s domestic violence laws.

And all of this in front of the child, who must be traumatized and afraid of the father. What a PUNK of a man he is. Bigger and stronger than the victim. PUNK @$$.
