USVI: Licensed gun owner suffers self-inflicted injury @ Festival Village
According to VIPD Director of Communications Glen Dratte, the incident happened around 9:53 p.m. on December 29. According to the report, a licensed firearm owner suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his right calf.
Gun went off while adjusting holster
The man, who was on a ride with his minor child at the time, told authorities that the discharge occurred while he was adjusting his firearm holster, which was in an Appendix Carry position.
EMS transported the individual to the Emergency Room for treatment. At the scene, a Crime Scene Technician (CST) recovered the firearm, a Canik MC9 9mm, along with a spent shell casing. After receiving medical care for a minor gunshot wound, the man was treated and subsequently released.
Police confirmed that no other individuals were injured during the accidental discharge.

Again, just in case you're incapable of understanding what I'm saying here, it's NOT the venue where he was carrying, but how he handled (actually mis-handled) the gun.
