USVI: 2 suspects arrested in connection in Nov. Oswald Harris Court shooting

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, USVI- Detectives from the VIPD's Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested two suspects in connection with a shooting that occurred on November 24, 2024, in the vicinity of Oswald Harris Court. The suspects, identified as 18-year-old Azani Prentice and 19-year-old Tony Isaac, were taken into custody following an extensive investigation that included surveillance footage of the incident.

According to the VIPD, the footage shows Prentice, with assistance from Isaac, firing multiple shots at a male victim as he fled on foot. The victim sustained several gunshot wounds during the incident.

Men charged with multiple offenses

Prentice and Isaac have been charged with multiple offenses, including attempted murder in the first degree, assault in the first degree, reckless endangerment, willful discharge of a firearm, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and conspiracy. Both individuals were remanded to custody with bail set at $500,000 each.

The VIPD said the investigation remains active and urged members of the public with information about the case to come forward. Individuals can contact the 911 Emergency Call Center, Detective Y. LoBlack at the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 774-2211, the Chief’s Office at (340) 715-5546, the Commissioner’s Office at (340) 715-5506, or provide tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers V.I. at 1-800-222-8477.

The police department has assured the public that all tips will remain confidential and that contributors may remain anonymous.

    I long for the day when our authorities can publish news such as this, in relation to the long outstanding murders here in the BVI.

      The train left us already. They used surveillance footage to capture those guys. With all that is taking place in the BVI, we are not there yet.
