US woman arrested in Bahamas for alleged plot to kill husband
An American woman is in trouble with the Bahamian legal system after she was accused of conspiring with two men to kill her estranged husband.
According to Bahamas Court News, Lindsay Shiver, 36, her alleged lover, 28-year-old Terrance Bethel, and Faron Newbold, 29, were arrested last week after police investigated reports of a burglary at Grabbers Bar and Grill restaurant on Great Guana Cay.
A probe of their cell phones allegedly revealed WhatsApp messages detailing the assassination plot.
US media reported Robert, 38, had recently filed for divorce from his wife of over a decade after he discovered her alleged extra-martial affair.
News of the Shivers’ marriage and now legal troubles are a shock for some as they appeared on social media to be the picture-perfect Christian family.
On social media, Lindsay frequently gushed about how much she loved her husband and their three children.
“‘The key to a perfect marriage is having two imperfect people, who refuse to give up on each other’. So thankful for that fitness class 13 years ago that brought us together and all of the love, laughter, and life we have created ever since! I love you babe. Cheers to many more,” she wrote in a March 2020 Instagram post.
Shiver, Bethel and Newbold appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley on Friday.
They are due back in court on October 5.
