UPDATE: Water restored to Anegada after payment
According to the usual National Democratic Party (NDP) senior source close to the situation, the cheque arrived on Anegada today, October 5, 2016 and, once the Company received confirmation, a call was made to the owner in the USA and water was restored around 2:00 P.M.
The source claimed that the cheque was available since last week, however, there was some miscommunication getting it across to the sister island of Anegada.
Residents have cried foul and believe that the Government of the day "cares little or nothing about us and if it was not for VINO we would have still been out of water," one resident stated.
It is believed, however, that TSG Water Company has still not gotten all the money owed to it by government and the people of Anegada could face this situation again in the coming months.
Calls to the Acting Director of Water and Sewerage Department Michael Davis and the Ministry of Communications and Works were not returned up to publication time.

No water on Anegada; TSG Plant shut-off over lack of payment!
The matter where the National Democratic Party (NDP) Government raided the Treasury, leaving the country broke to win the 2015 General Elections, continues to affect the ordinary residents.
This time it is Angenda where the water plant company TSG has reportedly shut off the pipe borne water since last Monday October 3, 2016 over lack of payment for its water. According to our newsroom’s sources inside the NDP, “yes its true VINO you always have accurate information but we are working on getting them a cheque…it will be sent maybe today but before Friday…,” the source confirmed.
Outside of our NDP sources, our newsroom has been flooded with calls about the situation from angry residents. When asked if they had contacted their District Representative, Doctor the Honourable Hubert O’Neal or some of the At-Large Representatives, many callers dismissed going that way and said “they only know us during elections but we are waiting on them next time around.”
It is believed the amount owed to TSG is around $100,000.00 USD, and as of post time the water was still shut off over the payment issue. It is believed that once a payment is made the water will be restored to the residents of the sister island of Anegada.
Money for politics, none for the people
Other residents also blasted the Dr Smith led Administration for spending some $7 million to bail out a bankrupt BVI Airways, wasted $1Million on a small wall around the Elmore Stoutt High School and another $5 million on studies for the Terrence B. Lettsome International Airport Runway expansion but cannot address the basic needs of the people on Anegada.
Just recently this news site reported that it was felt by some persons on that island that they were being abandoned by the government of the day in providing them with the basics such as equipping the Fire and Rescue Services with a much-needed vehicle to effectively perform its duties.
Our attempts at contacting the Government authorities responsible were unsuccessful, but we did manage to receive a “no comment” from Jerry D. Vanterpool who is in charge of the Anegada TSG water plant.

Well sah, ting to talk about. Remember that along with the problems with water, fire truck, etc, there is also the problem of teacher on Anegada putting pre schooler out of class to sit on the preschool stairs and claiming that the child bring snack to school that other children are allergic to. Then to make matters worse, instead of addressing the situation, all the p.... care about is not letting any outsider know that the incident take place. I guess this will ruin their so called reputation since they giving the minister the impression that its smooth sailing since they get rid of the man. Like really, why should one island have to deal with all that crap? Ayo need to join together and stop this madness from continuinh on Anegada.
This is Bull sh-t man!
There are Anegadias who have lived in the USA for years
This is almost criminal.
