UPDATE: VI airports reopen as Tropical Storm Watch discontinued
Managing Director of the BVI Airports Authority (BVIAA) Mr Kurt A.G. Menal had informed the travelling public that all airports in the Territory will reopen today, October 22, 2023, at 8:00 am.
Mr Menal advised that the decision to reopen the airports was made after the tropical storm watch issued for the Territory was discontinued and it was determined safe to do so.
Travellers are encouraged to contact their respective airlines if they have any concerns with their flight schedules.

VI airports to close due to Hurricane Tammy – BVIAA MD
Managing Director of the BVI Airports Authority Mr. Kurt A.G. Menal is informing the traveling public that given the Virgin Islands (VI) is currently under a tropical watch, airports in the VI will be closed today, October 21, 2023, as a result of Hurricane Tammy.
▪ Virgin Gorda International Airport – 2:00 p.m.
▪ Auguste George International Airport – 2:00 p.m.
▪ Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport – 4:00 p.m.
Mr. Menal has advised that all airports would remain closed on Sunday, October 22 until the “all clear” has been given and a complete assessment of each airport is conducted.
He added that further information would be provided on the reopening of the airports subsequently.
Passengers with confirmed travel for October 21 and 22, 2023, are also asked to contact their respective airlines directly for further information.
