UPDATE: Valiant VI edged 1-2 by Cuba in CONCACAF U20 Qualifiers
The VI fell behind in just the 14th minute when Karel Perez got the ball past goalkeeper Harry Foden to put Cuba on the scoresheet.
Nippy forward Azarni Callwood then levelled matters for the VI in the 30th minute; however, Cuba was able to get the winner in the 67th minute through Samuel Rodriquez.
The result is an inspiring one, considering that Cuba defeated the VI 29-0 in their lone previous meeting in 2011.
VI vs Belize tomorrow
The VI’s next game in Group A is against Belize at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
In more Group A action on Sunday, host nation Nicaragua defeated Belize 6-0. Andres Martinez (4’), Francis Castillo (13’, 52’), Oliver Bello (47’), Joab Gutierrez (50’) and Juban Uriarte (90’+3) all found the back of the net for the Pinoleros.

VI lose heavily in opening game of CONCACAF U20 Qualifying

The [British] Virgin Islands Under-20 Men’s footballers suffered a heavy defeat against hosts Nicaragua in their opening game of the CONCACAF Under-20 Championship Qualifiers at the Estadio Nacional De Nicaragua in Managua on Friday, February 23, 2024.
Playing in Group A, the visitors conceded 8 goals and were unable to find the back of the net.
The VI now play Cuba this afternoon from 6:00 PM.
Cuba started off Group A as big winners, claiming a 13-0 victory versus Anguilla.
Cuba defeated the VI 29-0 in their lone previous meeting in 2011.
