UPDATE: TS Arlene downgraded to Tropical Depression
The United States National Hurricane Center’s on Saturday issued an advisory that Arlene was moving south-southeast near 7 mph about 145 miles west-southwest of the Dry Tortugas and on a track toward Cuba.
It added that the depression should turn east Saturday night and scrape under the Florida Keys’ coast.
Currently, weather forecasters said the storm is said to bring Isolated to scattered thunderstorms with 40% chance of it expected in the Keys on Saturday and Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Key West.
There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.

Tropical Storm Arlene forms
MIAMI, Florida, USA- Tropical Storm Arlene, the first named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, has formed in the Gulf of Mexico.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 40 mph (65 km/h) with stronger gusts. Arlene is expected to weaken tonight, and is projected to become a remnant of the offside on Saturday, June 3, 2023.
Estimated minimum central pressure based on the data of the Air Force Hurricane Hunters is 1002 mb (29.59 inches).
Arlene does not pose any threat to the Virgin Islands at this time.
Hurricane season officially began for the Atlantic Ocean basin on June 1.
