UPDATE: T’Quan Bodkin & Kenaz Hazel allegedly found with loaded firearm

According to a press release from the RVIPF today, September 4, 2020, at 11:50am on Friday, October 2, 2020, officers of the RVIPF stopped and searched a male who was acting suspiciously and smelled strongly of cannabis, at the Road Town Ferry Terminal.
“The male, T'Quan Bodkin, 19, of Huntums Ghut, was found to have a loaded firearm in his possession,” the RVIPF stated, adding that Bodkin was subsequently arrested and taken to the Road Town Police Station and was later charged with carrying an unlicensed firearm and will appear before the Magistrate on the next available court date.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, police said at 4:40pm on Saturday, October 3, 2020, officers of the RVIPF, while on patrol in Trellis Bay, Beef Island, observed a male who was behaving suspiciously whilst carrying a bag.
“The male, Kenaz Hazel, 24 of Purcell Estate was stopped and searched. A loaded firearm was found in the bag and on his person ammunition,” Police stated, adding that Hazel was arrested and brought to the Road Town Police Station and has since been charged with carrying an unlicensed firearm and will appear before the Magistrate on the next available court date.

2 arrested for firearm possession in separate incidents
In separate incidents, two locals were arrested after they were allegedly found with a firearm, according to reports reaching our newsroom.
In the first incident, a 19-year-old of Huntums Ghut was arrested Friday morning, October 2, 2020.
Reports are that officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), while at the Road Town Ferry Dock, observed the teen behaving in a suspicious manner.
Approached and searched, he was allegedly found to be in possession of dime bags containing marijuana, sums of cash and a loaded firearm.

In the other incident, police allegedly found a local male of Purcell Estate with a loaded hand gun.
Investigations are ongoing.
This is the 4th firearm recovered by police recently, and comes on the heels of recent murders involving the use of a firearm.
