UPDATE: Suspected cocaine found on seized aircraft on Anegada- RVIPF
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) in a brief statement late last night said a joint operation between US Authorities and RVIPF Officers was conducted earlier in the day on Anegada.
“An aeroplane and a significant amount of what is believed to be cocaine were seized in the operation. Investigations are active therefore no other information is available at this time,” the RVIPF stated.
Police did not say whether any arrests were made.

Police reportedly pursuing suspected drug smuggler @ Anegada
Information coming into our news center this evening, August 19, 2023, is that a joint task force made up of police from the Virgin Islands (VI) and the United States Virgin Islands (USVI) is pursuing a suspected drug smuggler who reportedly landed an aircraft on Anegada.
While details remain sketchy, sources told our newsroom that as a result of the manhunt, the main Auguste George Airport on Anegada is reportedly closed and a plane grounded.
Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) will bring more information as it becomes available.
