UPDATE: Shot man in alleged road rage identified as Jasheed Scatliffe
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) had late yesterday, November 9, 2016 stated in a press release that efforts to locate the man reportedly shot were futile.
However, today, November 10, 2016 the RVIPF stated they were subsequently able to locate the young man, who was identified as 26 year old Jasheed Scatliffe of Long Bush.
“Couple hours after checking all medical facilities in the Territory, including Peebles Hospital and not being able to identify a victim, Police received a report that a young man with gunshot wound showed up at Peebles Hospital. Scatliffe who suffered a gunshot wound to his lower left leg remains hospitalised and is assisting police with their investigation,” the press release today stated.
Persons in the area who witnessed the shooting are asked to contact members of the Criminal Investigation Unit at 494-3822 or 311. Persons wishing to remain anonymous in relaying information to progress the investigation can do so by calling 1-800-8477.

UPDATE: Police unable to locate shot man in road rage incident
Virgin Islands News Online had first and accurately reported on a shooting near to the bandstand in Road Town yesterday, November 9, 2016.
However, while police have since confirmed reports of a shooting incident and that a man was shot they have not been able to locate the person who was allegedly injured.
According to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) in a press release late yesterday, its ranks responded to a report around 2:00 P.M. on November 9, 2016, of shots being fired in the Long Bush area.
“In conducting investigation, it was revealed that a young man was shot and was already transported to Peebles Hospital. However, checks at all medical facilities, including Peebles Hospital did not identify a victim. Investigation into the shooting is ongoing,” the press release stated.
Police are asking persons who were in the area and witness the shooting to contact members of the Criminal Investigation Unit at 494-3822 or 311. Persons wishing to remain anonymous in relaying information to progress the investigation can do so by calling 1-800-8477.

Man accidentally shoots self in alleged road rage
Unconfirmed reports reaching Virgin Islands News Online are that there was a shooting in Road Town, near the bandstand this afternoon, November 9, 2016.
According to information reaching this news site, the alleged incident occurred sometime before 2:00 P.M.
It is not clear if anyone has been injured but, according to reports, the matter stemmed from road rage. This news site was told that an argument had ensued between two drivers after one of them stopped on the roadway near the bridge opposite the bandstand.
It is said that the driver behind the stopped vehicle began blowing his horn furiously and then got out of his vehicle to approach the other driver. The driver in the car behind reportedly fired off a shot, however, the bullet reportedly ricocheted and hit the same shooter, who had to be taken to hospital.
The shooter's car was left on the road way.
Heavily armed police have cordoned off the area.
Efforts to get confirmation from Acting Police Information Officer Sergeant Beverly James were futile up to publication time.
