UPDATE: Police deny arrest of ‘Cindy’ Rosan
Rosan was seen escorted by police officers as she exited the RJT Edifice following a press conference called by Governor Daniel Pruce this morning. She was taken without force to a police vehicle and they then left the area in the same vehicle.
‘Approached’ not arrested- RVIPF
Virgin Islands News Online can confirm that a bench warrant was issued on Rosan in relation to a court matter and that police were ordered to arrest her on sight.
Police said in a statement today; however, that Rosan was not arrested but “approached”.
“Earlier today, it was circulated that Ms Cindy Rosan had been arrested. This, however, is incorrect. The matter for which she was approached has since been cleared up by RVIPF Officers and Ms Rosan. The RVIPF will offer no further comments on the incident,” the RVIPF stated this afternoon.

Bench warrant executed on ‘Cindy Rosan’ after Governor's Press Conference
Reports by local media houses that controversial talk-show host Rosemary L. Rosan aka 'Cindy' was arrested this Morning, May 24, 2024, have left many confused after Rosan took to social media to declare that the news was ‘Fake’.
JTV Channel 55 reported that Rosan was arrested as she exited the RJT Edifice where Governor Daniel Pruce had just concluded a press conference.
A video published by JTV showed Rosan escorted to a police vehicle which she entered without any resistance.
Ms Rosan subsequently took to social media to declare that the news from JTV was fake and that she was safe.
“It is what it is, I’m not being arrested… I’m good," she said in a social media live video.
“It was not arrested, noting like that happened…. There’s nothing going on,” she added while joking that she was just catching a ride.
Police Information Officer Akia L. Thomas-Nero did not respond to our request for a comment; however, a senior police source confirmed to our News Centre that Rosan was indeed arrested.
According to the senior police source, police executed a bench warrant regarding a High Court matter.
What is a Bench Warrant?
According to findlaw.com, a bench warrant, like any other warrant, authorises the police to arrest you when they find you. The primary difference is that a judge issues a bench warrant instead of it coming from the police. A bench warrant is issued by a judge or court when a defendant fails to appear at a scheduled court hearing or is deemed to be in contempt of court.
Our new centre will bring more information as it becomes available.
