UPDATE: Police arrest attempted murder accused Shemoi Carey
According to a press release from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) today, Monday, January 13, 2025, the 22-year-old has since been charged with Attempted Murder, Carrying an Unlicensed Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Explosives.
Two other individuals were also arrested on Suspicion of Assisting an Offender in relation to this case. Both persons were interviewed by detectives and subsequently discharged pending further inquiries.
Second suspect K’Shawn Martin still on the loose
Meantime, the RVIPF is still seeking the public’s assistance in locating the second individual wanted in relation to the matter, 18-year-old K’Shawn Martin of Sand Box Road.
The RVIPF urges anyone with information on the whereabouts of K’Shawn Martin to confidentially contact Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS) or overseas at (284) 800-8477 or the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339. All information provided will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
“The RVIPF wishes to inform the public that assisting, or aiding and abetting offenders, with the knowledge that they are wanted, exposes persons to serious criminal charges and penalties under the law,” the release warned.

2 wanted in connection with Friday’s broad daylight shooting in RT
- K’Shawn Martin & Shemoi Carey wanted for the offence of Attempted Murder
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Police have issued wanted bulletins for two young men accused of being the perpetrators of a shooting in broad daylight in Road Town on Friday, November 8, 2024.
K’Shawn Martin, 18 and Shemoi Carey, 22 have been considered armed and dangerous by police and the public has been alerted not to approach them.
The two are wanted for Attempted Murder.
Shooting victim in ‘stable’ condition- Police
The shooting in the vicinity of Ups Cineplex and a funeral home just after 1:00 PM resulted in serious injuries to K’zhari Stoutt.
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) informed today, November 12, 2024, that Mr Stoutt underwent surgery and is in stable condition.
Description of wanted men
Meanwhile, Martin has been described as a black male, brown-skinned, with a height of 5 ft 9 inches. He is said to be about 130 pounds and his last known address was Sandbox Road.
Carey has been described as a black male, dark-skinned, medium built, with a height of 6 feet 3 inches. He is said to weigh about 235 pounds and his last known address was Huntums Ghut.
Persons with any information regarding the whereabouts of Martin and Carey are asked to contact the RVIPF Criminal Investigation Department at 368-5323.
