Someone could be arrested but not charged (An arrest means only that you were taken into police custody and temporarily held by the police. After you are arrested, it is decided whether to charge you with a crime).
When can you be arrested?
They suspect on reasonable grounds that you have committed an offence or are about to commit an offence
They have a warrant for your arrest
They have stopped you for a breach of the peace (threatening violence, or provoking someone else to be violent)
They believe on reasonable grounds that you have breached your bail conditions
You think their names won’t be released at some point.
Great job police! Keep up the good work, we need ALL these murders solved regardless of its OURS or THEIRS!
