UPDATE: No evidence to suggest foul play in discovery of body - Police
As first and accurately reported by Virgin Islands News Online (VINO), Police today confirmed that the body was discovered in an abandoned building.
“There is no evidence to suggest foul play at this point. However, investigations are ongoing. The body has not been positively identified,” police sources said in a release.

Decomposing body found in abandoned house @ Upper Main Street
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Moments ago today, August 1, 2023, a body believed to be that of a male resident was reportedly found dead in an abandoned house located at Upper Main Street, Road Town, on the main island of Tortola.
It is unclear who made the initial discovery; however, police are on the scene.
A foul smell was also observed in the area, which may have aroused suspicion.
According to unconfirmed reports, the body has decomposed to the point of unrecognition.
