UPDATE: Meal of death? Woodley’s co-workers in shock
Woodley died last evening, March 4, 2015 reportedly after being returned to the health centre.
Virgin Islands News Online was told that the heavy duty equipment operator with Ebony and Ivory Construction had purchased a meal which she shared with her sister. It was said that the now deceased had the greater portion of the meal and shortly after eating began to feel un-well.
“I understand that she got like loose bowels after and was feeling very sick,” said a close friend. The friend said that Woodley was taken to the local health facility in the Valley, Virgin Gorda where she was given some medication.
“But like the meds they gave her made things worse because as I understand it she went really bad after she used the meds and they had to rush her back to the clinic but by the time they got there, she collapsed and it was a dead woman in their hands,” added the friend.
Several others related the same story and some co-workers expressed shock as their colleague had appeared very healthy and normal the same day. “We even had a really good time as recent as last weekend. My girl was alright and in top shape. This is totally a big shock. Look how you here today and gone tomorrow,” added another friend.
Woodley, who hailed from St Vincent and the Grenadines, was described as a ‘lady in the street’ and as ‘tough as a man on a machine’ as she was said to be evenly skilled as a man when operating heavy earthmoving equipment.
“I now can confirm that police responded to a report made by personnel of the Nurse Iris O'Neal Clinic of the sudden death of a 40-year-old female. She was pronounced dead at the clinic at around 9:10pm. Investigations are ongoing," Police Public Relations Officer Diane Drayton told this news site.
Up to press time Woodley’s relatives could not be reached for comment.

Side note: These doctors that they contract to the BVI prescribe meds over the phone sometimes for patients. I have seen this first hand as a Virgin Gorda Resident. BVI Health Services Authority needs to look into this. In addition, I remember that the on call nurse or doctor use to have to stay at the clinic. That is not the case now. Everybody wants to stay at their home and you have to call them out at night.. That is outrageous!!! Minister of Health you have had too many wake up calls.. there are alot of situations that need addressing immediately..
Save a life Today.
Condolences to the family and friends
