UPDATE: McMaster blazes into 400m Hurdles Final @ 2023 World C/Ships
McMaster, who has a Personal Best of 47.08, blazed to victory in a time of 47.72 in his semi-final race moments ago, August 21, 2023.
Taking the second automatic spot was Rasmus Magi of Estonia, who clocked 48.30 seconds.
CJ Allen of the USA was third, while fourth was Jamaica’s Jaheel Hyde, who paid the price for a fast early half of the race.
Finalists
Also reaching the final are the usual suspects: World Record Holder and Olympic Champion Karston Warholm (47.08), Rai Benjamin of the USA and Alison Dos Santos of Brazil.
Other athletes securing a place in the final are Jamaica’s Roshawn Clarke who ran 47.34 for a World Under 20 Record, the USA’s Trevor Bassitt, and Joshua Abuaku of Germany.
August 23, 2023, is the final, which already looks to be another explosive race like when Warholm, Benjamin, Dos Santos and McMaster clashed at the Tokyo Olympics.
It was the fastest 400m Hurdles race in history and McMaster's 47.08 was only good for fourth.

Kyron A. McMaster through to 400m Hurdles semis in Budapest
Reigning Commonwealth Games Champion Kyron A. McMaster of the [British] Virgin Islands has secured his place in the semi-finals of the Men’s 400m Hurdles at the at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
McMaster won heat two this morning, August 20, 2023, in a time of 48.47 seconds, the seventh-fastest time overall.
The 2-time Diamond League Champion will return to the track tomorrow at 1:35 pm [VI time] to challenge for a spot in the finals.
McMaster was a finalist at the 2019 World Championships, finishing in 4th position.
