UPDATE: Man gunned down in Huntums Ghut is Le’Shaughn A. Smith
Mr Smith was reportedly killed in a drive-by shooting in the vicinity of The Boys Service Station.
The deceased was the CEO of a trucking and car rental business and a boat tour agency.
Mr Smith's killing is the second murder and fatal shooting in the [British] Virgin Islands for 2022.

Man reportedly killed in drive-by shooting in Huntums Ghut
Information just reaching our newsroom is that a young businessman has been killed in an alleged drive-by shooting in Huntums Ghut tonight, February 24, 2022.
According to reports, the fatal shooting occurred sometime between 9:30pm and 10:00pm in the vicinity of The Boys Service Station.
Virgin Islands News Online is withholding the name of the deceased until it is confirmed next of kin has been informed.

Heres an idea invest in bullet proof police vehicles & helmets. Strategically position mobile units according to the publics security. Make committing murder a suicide mission.
Now a days when there's a murder its in a busy area from cappons bay, to machine gun fire at fish bay. Its sad that child got killed in the vicinity of west station 'the one that covers all of west area' yet no arrest.
One man already got shot by a stray bullet in huntums ghut could have be anyone or their child. Innocent man down.
What are we going to do if one of those gun man turn crazy as up in the states. we as a community are not ready for a active shooter situation.
Im starting to believe legislation should be past that citizen can be armed as in Trinidad, because we have this security situation as a joke. The murders have it too easy thats why they keep doing it. They get away clean & unhurt to the point that we see from shorty's killing young men going into the field of hired assassins.
When you've got hired assassins' in this once peaceful country, and wanabe gas station robbery kids with AKs that's probably time to let the ordinary citizens register for their own firearm. Seriously if police can not protect us law makers you need to make the change. 2 inch blade thing is no deterrence.
Even the people round these victims aint ready either. Most probably are just hustlers not deranged criminals. The dude that got lured to & killed at brandywine bay what did the killer say when charged "he was between my money". These guys are sick they will make it up in their twisted minds how people wrong them to justify taking another persons life.

When are we going to start questioning what is funding these lifestyles and "entrepreneurs"? Tackle at the root rather than after each murder. Come on police, investigate source of funds or build a team able to.
