Contrary to what police have stated, Mr Hezikiah Maddox told Virgin Islands News Online that his brother was not known to be suffering from any chronic illness or other ailments prior to his death.
"There was a sudden death of a man at Sabbath Hill around noon today. Prior medical conditions existed," said Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) Information Officer, Diane Drayton when contacted yesterday, September 2, 2013.
The younger Maddox said he was very concerned at not being able to reach his brother all day Sunday September 1, 2013 and that led him and his wife to go visit his home on Monday. He said they had last communicated on Saturday August 31, 2013.
Mr Maddox said when he got to the home of his 59-year-old brother he found him lying on a pillow on the floor and was non-responsive. "We were in contact on a daily basis and after trying to reach him all day Sunday, my wife and I went to check on him on Monday," said his brother Hezikiah Maddox.
Glen Shariff Maddox, known to some as just ‘The Ice-cream Man’, was pronounced dead by medical personnel at around 2:45 P.M. The deceased was the proprietor of ‘Sunny Shaved Ice’, a mobile shaved ice and ice-cream truck that made regular stops around Tortola.
Mr Glen S. Maddox is survived by his father, Hezikiah Maddox of Jost Van Dyke, one sister, four brothers and three adult children.

Body of elderly man found in Sabbath Hill home
Residents of Sabbath Hill made a startling discovery shortly after 3 P.M. today, September 2, 2013 when out of care and concern they went in search of a neighbour.
Virgin Islands News Online was informed by a reliable source that the body of Mr Glenn Shariff Maddox, who is believed to be around 60 years of age, was found in his Sabbath Hill home.
Neighbours had decided to go in search of the man who they had not seen for a few days.
He lived alone and was said to be very popular for selling icecream at his residence and around Tortola using his icecream mobile.
"He is a well known man and is always out and about and I think that is why when they didn't see him for a couple of days they went in search of him and met their worst fears," said the source.
It was reported that there are no suspicions of foul play at this time.
According to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) Information Officer, Diane Drayton, "There was a sudden death of a man at Sabbath Hill around noon today. Prior medical conditions existed."

homicide theories. Yet it is wise to keep minds open while respecting the deceased and their surviving
families and friends - because there has been an enormous increase in the BVI past two years of needless
homicides, some with the killer quite obvious (like the S---bag who just executed his girlfriend out of
jelousy in a bar parking lot) or the allegedly unknown four masked gunmen in a territory with strict gun
laws even if you are law abiding, just waltzing into a bar and executing someone there - well alot of this may
be from just the usual percentage of bad people anywhere. But it's increase recently while the USA is
putting preasure on the BVI over a tax treaty and this matter getting very threatening - well if you don't
mind me saying so in this tragedy of an innocent man - this all smells like the USA Central Intelligence
Agency trying to 'persuade' people to sign the papers. Good night.
