ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – “Sean's eyes were closed when he pulled the name and he actually grabbed two pieces of paper and her paper was the one he held on to,” said Kareem-Nelson Hull LIME Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications as he set the record straight amidst public concerns raised regarding the first $5k draw on Friday July 25, 2014.

The Sean that he referred to was LIME BVI General Manager Sean Auguste. It was the occasion of the finals of the 2nd annual HD Promotion, LIME Soca Monarch held at the Festival Ground. The first draw which would see LIME giving away $60K during the 60th Festival season was one of the main highlights of the night.

It was won by Yessica George, 20 years old and mother of one child who said that she will use the money to take care of a loan.

“She said she wasn't excited because she knows there is a Jessica George and she wasn't sure it was her until she saw her number on the card,” explained Mr Hull.

According to Hull, Yessica's card was entered after Topping Up at the Village. The entrants from around the country's names were added to the raffle bin first and then the people who topped up in the Village were entered.

Mr Hull explained that all the names that were entered from across the country and the Village will be left in the raffle bin for all subsequent draws so this increases their chances of winning as well as each time they top up, they will be entered again.

“Persons who pay their bills are also entered more than once as we are aware that a bill is only paid once per month. The number of entries will be proportionate to amount of the bill,” explained Mr Hull.

The next draw is Friday 1 August live in Road Town. “LIME intends to give away $60,000 for the 60th with some of the money being given in prizes as well, but CASH draws will always be announced and they will happen every Friday,” said Mr Hull.

Security escorting you to get rid of the monies? Get rid of the money how? If someone walks up with a gun, what use is security? This is not such a good idea for true. Give her a cheque or something. I understand it looks more sensational to give cash but not a good idea in the day, muchless at night.

I know cash is nice. But i don't think it is wise to give this money like this. Especially to a young lady, you never know who may be scooping her to stick her up for it.

That's the same thing I am thinking. They should call the winner into their office each week privately then announce all the winners publicly after the promotion has ended.

They could have given her a bank deposit receipt to an account# she would have given them earlier. They would have their photo-op (that's really what they care about), but she would have the money secure.
