UPDATE: Hon Fraser, Rajah A. Smith among those dunked for a cause
The highlight of the day was no doubt the dunking of Third District Representative Hon Julian Fraser RA. Talk show co-host Rajah A. Smith also supported the event by putting himself up for dunking.
Speaking to Virgin Islands News Online yesterday, President of ACT Kimberly Parker-Fraser said that persons came out to the event despite the rains earlier in the day.
“It went pretty well since we had a rainy start,” she said. “I wasn’t expecting much people to come out but we had a good turnout and it was well supported. A lot of people took part in the activities,” she said.
Asked what the event meant for the causes that the group supports, Parker-Fraser said that the group has made a good start. “For the graduation that is coming up we can definitely make a contribution to the schools within the district,” she said.
She said that the group is planning to have a district talent show for sometime in the summer.
Asked what the experience was like, Hon Fraser said every moment of it was worth the effort. “I really didn’t think it would be that much fun…sitting there, waiting for someone to hit that bull’s-eye. When you drop into that tank, it is a rush,” he said. Hon Fraser believes that if it had not rained earlier, the turnout would have been better.
“This is the kind of person I really am. I come out and support my people. Anytime there is an activity and I am called, I am there. Even if I am not called I am there. I feel really truly blessed to be here today to help these young people out and I will encourage them to have events like this and many many more,” said Hon Fraser when asked about his motivation to participate in the event.

Hon Fraser to be dunked tomorrow during SCB fun day
SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI – Representative for the Third District Hon Julian Fraser, RA will be dunked in water as part of a fundraising effort by the youth group ACT – Alternative Community Transformation at a fun day set for tomorrow May 3, 2014 at the Roger A. Hodge Softball Field between the hours of 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Speaking with Virgin Islands News Online about the event, President of ACT Kimberly Parker-Fraser said that the group which had its genesis in January of 2014 decided to host the event to raise funds for a number of activities it intends to undertake.
“Basically we are trying to raise money to do different activities to give back to the community. There is graduation coming up in June and we are trying to see if we can get to give books or scholarships to the different primary schools within the District, and to go to those schools and see what their needs are and to make a contribution,” she said.
She said too that they will also be visiting elderly persons in the District. According to Parker-Fraser, while there will be different people getting dunked, Hon Fraser as the headline personality will be the last to go in.
She said that the other activities will be face painting, bouncy castle, tug of war, three-legged race and sack race among others. She said too that food and drinks will be there.
Speaking to this news site, Hon Fraser explained that one of the members of the group Facebooked him telling him about the organization that she is a part of. “She said they would like an audience with me and willingly I said sure let’s set a date,” Hon Fraser said.
He said jovially that after it was explained to him how exactly he would be taking part, he thought about how big a fool he was going to make himself. However, he said that he is for the community and the event is to benefit the community to he agreed to it.
According to him, the group indicated that the first date set for the event had to be cancelled because of conflicting schedules.
“Sure enough it was rescheduled and we had the meeting. A group of young men and women came to my office and we had a chat and they outlined to me the things they wanted to do in the community,” he said. “They saw the need for things like visiting the elderly and helping children with the homework in the afternoon and getting involved [in other such activities]. I was able to suggest to them some things that they might be able to execute,” he said.
“For instance I have the Julian Fraser Basketball League and it is all men…some 15 teams all men. So I was suggesting to them that they may want to put together a girls’ team. I feel really terrible when I go there and it is only young men…where are the girls?” he said.

Maybe someone can explain this: If the party elects a chairperson and a vice chair who are not seeking political office and that party wins the election, who becomes the premier.
Fraser all the way
I will be there to buy up all the balls and repetitively dunk Julian's backside. I really hope he dr..ns!
So the At large concept is a big joke and an attempt to distract, from Hon Fraser becoming the BVI next premier a settled matter! The best Chief Minster/Premier from this country has been from district Livity Stoutt 1st, Willard Wheatley 8th, Cyril Romney 5th and Ralph O’Neal 9th …The only AT large Dr. Smith is the biggest joke and has not done one thing for the BVI but give his wife a contract so mvw and the NDP paid bloggers go scatter you all rasss with this hogwash We the people know better!!!
