LIMA, Peru, SA- Teenage Olympian Adaejah T. Hodge has put herself in an early position to medal at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima, Peru, after qualifying for the Final of the Women's 100m.

Hodge won her Heat earlier this morning, August 27, 2024, and then placed second in her Semi-final race this afternoon.

After running 11:45 in her Heat, Hodge appeared to put just enough effort in the Semis to secure her Final berth, running 11:59.

The race was won by Chelsea Kadiri of Germany in 11:53.

Also reaching the Final is Alana Reid of Jamaica, who clocked 11.44 to win her Semi-final heat, and Kishawna Niles (11:39) of Barbados, who also won her heat.

The Final will be run on Wednesday evening, August 28, 2024.

UPDATE: Hodge eases into 100m Semis @ World U20 Championships

 Adaejah T. Hodge comfortably won her Heat this morning to qualify for the Semi-finals of the Women's 100m at the World Athletics Under 20 Championhips in Lima, Peru today, August 27, 2024.

Hodge clocked 11:45 seconds to secure her spot in the Semis at 5:35 PM.

Second was Kishawna Niles of Barbados in 11:63 while Uliana Stepanuik of Ukraine took third in a time of 11:82.

Adaejah T. Hodge in 100m action @ 11:10 AM today in Lima

Virgin Islands teenage sprint phenom and Olympian Adaejah T. Hodge will get into action at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima, Peru today, Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Hodge will compete in Heat 1 of the Women’s 100m at 11:10 AM and will be running out of Lane 9.

The 18-year-old Hodge, who has a Personal Best of 11:11 in the event, will come up against the likes of Kishawna Niles of Barbados (PB: 11:33) and Athaleya Hinckson of Guyana (PB: 11:39) in Heat 1.

The Semi-finals will run at 5:35 PM.

Hodge will also contest the Women’s 200m on Thursday, August 29 at 11:15 AM. She is the World U20 Record Holder in that event, with a Personal Best of 22:33.
