LIMA, Peru, SA- Virgin Islands sprinter Adaejah T. Hodge has put herself in a position to capture another medal at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima, Peru.

The 18-year-old, already a 100m silver medallist at the championships, was the second fastest qualifier in the Semifinals on August 29, 2024.

Hodge clocked 23.18 to win her Semi-final heat and a place in the final at 7:35 PM today.

Taking second was Yinglan Liu of China in 23.30 while third was Elise Cooper of the USA in 23.43.

Hodge and Jamaica's Shanoya M. Douglas are the only Caribbean athletes in the Women's 200m Final.

Hodge wins Women's 200m Heat in Lima

Adaejah T. Hodge is eying another medal at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima, Peru.

The Women's 100m silver medallist in Peru clocked 23:19 in her 200m Heat race today, August 29, 2024.

Second was Chane Vermeulen of South Africa in 23.73 while third was Terezie Taborska of Czech Republic im 23.90.

Hodge's time was the fastest of the 6 heat races.

The Semi-final is slated for 5:50 PM today.

    Adeajah, we are proud of you. Eagerly waiting for the final. This goes to show the young people of this Territory that hardwork pays off. This barely putting in any effort in whatever you are doing is very disappointing to those of us watching. The work has to be put in daily to make it to the top of the heap.
