ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Assistant Police Commissioner Pam Trevillion has tendered her resignation, which will take effect on March 8, 2025.

The UK national submitted her letter of resignation from the post at the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) to Governor Daniel Pruce on February 8, 2025, a memorandum from the Office of the Governor shared to its official Facebook page states.

“Having considered this matter carefully I have concluded I should accept your resignation. As you indicate in your memorandum your last day of service would be 8 March 2025,” Governor Pruce said in the memorandum.

RVIPF officials claim to have not known about resignation

Acting Commissioner of Police Jacqueline E. Vanterpool, when asked by our newsroom, said she could not “confirm” knowing about Trevillion’s resignation when word began to spread that she may have resigned.

Earlier this week, Wednesday, February 12, 2025, local tabloid Guavaberry Media, reported that Trevillion had resigned with immediate effect.

The Governor’s memorandum now indicate the truth that Trevillion submitted her letter with one month’s notice.

‘I have no knowledge’ of Pam Trevillion resigning- ACOP Vanterpool

- despite local tabloid Guavaberry Media reporting Trevillion had resigned as Assistant CoP

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- On February 12, 2025, local tabloid Guavaberry Media, known for spreading fake news often in its haste to be first, reported that Assistant Police Commissioner and UK national Pam Trevillion- who many believe is favoured by the governor for the post of Commissioner of Police- had resigned with immediate effect.

This reportedly followed a heated exchange between the Acting Commissioner of Police and local Jacqueline E. Vanterpool and Trevillion.

Guavaberry Media, owned by the controversial Rosemary L. Rosan aka 'Cindy', had reported that Trevillion assaulted Vanterpool; however, this was labelled as “false” by ACOP Vanterpool.

The same tabloid also earlier reported that Trevillion was put on "forced leave" following her alleged run-in with Vanterpool; however, the RVIPF debunked the article in a statement.

"The RVIPF would like to indicate that the content of this article is erroneous, misleading, and can best be described as misinformation," the statement on February 10, 2025, declared.

More fake news by Guavaberry Media?

So far, there has been no confirmation by either the Office of the Governor or the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) that Trevillion has indeed resigned.

Policy and Communications Officer in the Governor’s Office Andrea Blumire neither confirmed nor denied the reports of Trevillion’s alleged resignation.

“Please reach out to the RVIPF to comment on this one,” Blumire told our News Centre on February 13, 2025.

RVIPF’s media liaison Akia L. Thomas-Nero only said “I cannot” [confirm the reports].

Our News Centre reached out to Ms Vanterpool, who also said she could not confirm the reports as she was not aware of a resignation.

“I cannot confirm that as I have no knowledge of such,” Vanterpool said,

After being told that a local tabloid had stated police sources had informed it of Trevillion’s resignation, Vanterpool said: Well if they know that let them say so….Even if Pam tendered her resignation, officers below my rank will never know that.”

Further pressed by our News Centre and told that her credibility was on the line, Ms Vanterpool said, "I have absolutely nothing to hide."

Trevillion hard to work with?

Ms Trevillion, who applied for the CoP post, is alleged to be not only be favoured by the Governor, Daniel Pruce, but also the former police Commissioner Mark Collins, also a UK national.

Many police officers from all ranks have told our newsroom that Ms Trevillion, a UK national, is “hard to work with” and some have accused her of “not knowing how to speak to fellow police officers”.

Meanwhile, efforts to reach Trevillion for a comment proved futile.

why cant the people we vote for make these decisions because the same Governor who implied that Jackie was doing such a good job is now backing the European Counterpart: in 2025 and as a People We Still Battling With Former Masters of Slavery: our folks have to pay all of the bills in this overseas territory while british reps come in and enjoy the climate and the cash

The UK, Mount Olympus, undoubtedly wants a White Briton to fill the CoP position in the VI. And is pulling out all the stops,,leaving no stone unturned, its unilateral power to make it happened. It is employing a mid-dis-mal-information strategy to make it happpen. It is feeding a hungry, unprofessional, irresponsible media source to apparently spread the disinformation, ambushing, demoralizing, frustrating, etc, any local competition for the CoP position. For example, Guv Daniel Pruce halted the tectuiti process to ensure require White Britons were on the cut list.

Sadly, during slavery, colonialism, etc., the divide and rule strategy was effectively employed..The divide and rule mentality still exist among VI residents. The VI is a deeply divided community. Consequently, Mount Olympus is using and strategically employing the disunity among locals to do S its like. As the slave institution created division among house, yard, and field negroes, so is Mount Olympus using the disunity among Virgin Islanders to get its way. Virgin Islanders wake up from your slumber and free yourselves.

@Stealth, indeed it is ambushing the process, running, hiding and pretending their hands are clean. Agee that VI disunity, especially among locals, is being employed to its disadvantage and to the advantage of the colonialists. The tactics that is being employed in addition to VI disunity, is psychological terroism. The VI once had the will to fight, they were warriors but of late they have gotten soft as butter in the hot Caribbean sun. They are behaving as rattlers behave calm, cool, going about its business. But when a rattler is enraged they coil and attack/strike with vengeance till the battle is over. People learn from mistakes, from history. If we don’t learn from and ignore history, we will repeat it. Are we going back? The bard of Stratford Upon Avon, Shakespeare, cites that what is past is prologue. Virgin Islanders are we ok with going back?

A house devided will not stand, same for a disunified nation, a people, a country, (the B.V.I), and other UK's Overseas Territories.

Now is the time to stop this insane political waring among ourselves in the B.V.I. Rather than than being helpful they, the ongoing tug-a-waring are only causing unnecessary exposure of incompetence of good governance of community cooperation.
More money, bigger and better houses, higher academic achievements, etc, will not inhance or guarantee respect for us from others, but how we conduct in the goodly way of love and neighborhood caring, and helping to meet each other needs, most likely will much more than not.

Can things that have no life be as valuable and living humans? Do things with no life spread fake news in accordance to the topic issue? NO. The has past and now is for us to unite for our own good and the of our children and grandchildren. Peace by loving actions is much better perishable trophies.

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark/ Road Town. Was it deliberate or inadvertent that the Governor did not apprise firstly it seems the Acting CoP Jacqueline Vanterpool that a member of RVIPF, ie, Pam Travilllion, had submitted her resignation. Was it the Guv view that the Acting CoP Vanterpool was a place holder and had no status that he had to honour? What else is in the mortar beside the pistle? What is the next shoe to drop? Is another UK national in the pipeline for filling the vacant CoP position?

Let her go. In order to lead, you must be willing to follow and the golden rule is humility, not race, creed or color. It would appear that she like many of us forgot the oath of office we took.

The Acting Commissioner ought to step down from her role, as her behavior in this situation showcases a clear pattern of deceit directed at both the media and the residents of the British Virgin Islands. This particular case demonstrates that she is not being truthful, which raises significant concerns about her integrity. When an individual in a leadership position compromises their honesty, it puts their credibility in jeopardy and undermines the trust that the public places in them. The importance of transparency and honesty in governance cannot be overstated, and without these foundational principles, the effectiveness of her role is severely diminished. Citizens rely on their leaders to provide accurate information and uphold ethical standards, and when those expectations are not met, it creates a rift between the government and the community. As someone who is in a position of authority, the Acting Commissioner should recognize the gravity of her actions and the impact they have on public perception. The reputation of the office she occupies is at stake, and her continued presence in that position, coupled with her dishonesty, ultimately erodes the confidence that the people of the BVI have in their leadership. In light of this situation, her resignation would be a necessary step towards restoring trust and accountability.
