BEEF ISLAND, VI – People matched the grains of sands of the Long Bay Beach on Beef Island, Virgin Islands, last evening June 1, 2014 as the promoters of the Soca Monarch launched the competition for the second time around.
The turnout for the launch was a massive one which saw the committee being introduced along with the names of the competitors being released. Joining the launch were several speedboat operators who in the early stages of the evening put on a show for spectators.
The Soca Monarch competition made its debut during the 2013 celebrations of Tortola’s Emancipation Festival of 2013 and was well received judging from the number of participants and the massive turnout by patrons.
