CANE GARDEN BAY, Tortola, VI – The many pockets of discussion following the new style Alkaline touch of dancehall style music at the Myett’s Beach front in Cane Garden Bay which ended in the wee hours of this morning July 12, 2015, did not fail to pass the ears of this news site especially since most expressed that they wanted more for their buck.

The call for more was not specific to the on stage performance of the International artiste out of Jamaica, Alkaline, but rather many shared the view that there needed to have been a few locals and another international one from places such as St. Thomas to make show the hit they were looking for.

The beach front was packed to capacity with persons who came out for a great show and according to several persons, the Virgin Islands is not at the level for a lone artiste like Alkaline.

“Especially when you going charge $40 to come in. They needed to put at least two more artists and the game would have been shot. Alkaline, Dj Dre and Dj Kuga wasn’t enough… definitely not enough. Don’t try the get rich tactic on us now,” said one woman.

Additional live entertainment was provide VIBE which brought the crowd to stage front before Alkaline hit the stage and VIBE was back again right after Alkaline left.

“But it was a good night for sure. Some of his music we don't know, but he did give a good show and I love him. His tattoo eyes are indeed sexy so haters don’t be hating, those eye are sexy,” said one woman who appeared to be in her late 30s.

Alkaline gets hyped welcome @ TB Lettsome Int'l Airport

BEEF ISLAND, VI – Even though his flight into the Virgin Islands (VI) was delayed by almost one hour Jamaican dancehall star Alkaline's fans were not deterred from giving him a ‘hyped’ welcome into the territory last night July 10, 2015.

The scene at the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport at Beef Island last night was one that heard the blasting of sound systems in cars and other motor vehicles with persons brandishing their favourite alcohol and other beverages as they rocked to some of their favourite Alkaline lyrics.

They waited patiently to ensure that it was no gimmick or prank about one of the top Jamaican dancehall artists was indeed going to turn up for his debut show in the territory to perform for them.

They were assured when the saw the presence of some of the promotors arriving sometime after 10:00pm and a number of vehicles branded with the promotional posters all parked at the airport.

As Alkaline made his exit for the arrival lounge at the airport the action started with phone and other cameras flashing and several persons including a number of children rushing to get their selfies as the Facebook pages were their target to start spreading the word that he is actually here.

He couldn’t hold his strong signature straight posing face as one woman managed to have him break out into a smile followed by some laughter when she went in for her selfie and said, “Smile for me just a little while for me,” followed by and her ice breaking statement, “Baby all I want is to hear your voice, just to hear you sing for me.”

Another said as she held on for her selfie, “Wow you are really a cute young man you know.”

This gave way to the belief that among the massive crowd anticipated for tonight would be persons curious to see for themselves his tattooed eyes, bleached skin and the work of art imprinted as extensive tattoos which decorate his body.

Alkaline will be performing on tonight July 11, 2015 at Myett’s Beachfront in Cane Garden Bay at “Summer Glow” as Five Star Promotions said that they are committed to giving the VI regular international entertainment and to kick off the summer.

Alkaline is known for hits such as “Move Mountains”, “123”, “Things Mi Love”, “Gyal Bruk Out”, “Live Life”, “On & On”, “Gone Away”, “Wifey”, “Wah We Ah Go Do”, “How It Feel”, “A Bagga Tings” and “Ride On Me”.

This is a shame to see what this country is coming to. This boy brings nothing positive to this community. Sings about devil worship and demeaning females and treating them like nothing more than meat. Tattoos his eyeballs supposedly. And our Immigration allows him in for what? The media covering this guy like he is some supwrstar and like this is positive for the bvi. Disgusting! Where are our leaders? If we stand for nothing then we will fall for everything and anything. We can ban shark catching but can't stop undesirables from being promoted in our country and to our youth. Shameful! I miss the VIP government on days like this. They would have taken a stand!

That's the reason Tortola could never make no money because people like u with ur bad mind state always talking.... That the reason we work of our money and take it to other countries to spend n be entertain. Other country kno how to make money why we have to be an Amish country? If u bring a gospel artist what coming to bring to country? He voice n songs! Same way the other artist bringing their voice n songs. Everybody listen to different music just cause u not interested does mean we all have to suffer!! Let the show go on!!! N more artist into the Bvi!!! More Money more business!! Wise up people!!!

The greatest Moral issue in this country is when little innocent babies are born at Peebles in the BVI and have to get immigration time to stay in a country where they born-Talk about morals. Check that out--Check yourself. Nothing more unmoral or Ungodly than that, can`t get worst than that

@ Nonsense you are talking crap I am 100 % sure either one of your parents are from down Islands if your over 40 years then you can talk that but for the pass 3 decades 3 out of 5 babies are born to a parent of down Islands. Many of you come on blogging about that issue yall parent(s) are from down island and had to go through he same process of getting time and have to wait until 10 years or older to get a passport but now you on here talking crap when you went through the same process. In 10 years from now there wouldn't be no true or indigenous in the VI because the world is changing so take that and chew it up.

What else. Who else to bring? He must be the only one that`s never being here. He is the one act right now that can pack festival village up..All Kenny doing is bringing these same people over and over, they should give steve the contract instead. He may be infamous, but he will deliver new and fresh artist.

I see you plugging for Steve. Maybe Steve should step up to the plate. The thing is look at Steve's numbers of attendance, at his events. Are his artistes pulling numbers to talk about? You think that qualifies him to do a festival event? People have to pay their dues, especially in Tortola. A few supposedly "successful" artistes don't make you a pro. Just love to see the views of these people!!!

Now look at this.. you will really let the devil put his hands on you? will you really like to share a photo with the devil himself? I don't care what anyone on the photo say, truth remain the same, you're soul is gone, each to his own, follow the lines and be on the look out. However the devil is weak & god is a mighty mighty god.

"Those eyes are sexy"! Are you kidding? We are in a real BIBLICAL state of affairs with this young lady or even a MAN (Another BIBLICAL state of affairs) stating that the tattooing of his eyes sexy... and stating it proudly in public? Common basic morals are being degraded at such a sadly drastic rate.

Half of people in church in Obeah? Now, where you got those stats from? You conducted interviews or you were the Obeah King or Queen whom they came to? You know how many members in Methodist Church? No, man, your statement is not true. Stop talking bad about our country. My country is not an Obeah country. We were told that our ancestors worked hard and prayed a lot for it to be better so that other people could find work here, so please, stop associating our country with the amount of Obeah you are alluding to. It is my opinion and belief that some people who came to live among us started the hype in turning to Obeah for solutions. Not my blessed country...Keep bad mouth off of our Virgin Islands.

this guy ain't ready for a big stage. the show was not good. its not steve's fault. he did good. it was well decorated, well advertised and organized. the two artist on the other hand was not good. VIBE did a lazy job in terms of entertaining the crowd and alkaline.... first off, your pants was way to low. what the hell were u thinking? there is also men, young men that look up to you even though you are young yourself, in the audience... not a good image to showcase...additionally, you are an entertainer. wow the audience. don't just come for the money. that's how it appeared. if I owned an entertainment company in the BVI, and you were an opinion to bring here in the future, I would not bring you back. and its ashame. you are just starting. if you keep this up, in 1 year, nobody would be studying you. You are in the world od business. additionally, steve, I hope you broke even. I taught more people would've been there...
