UPDATE: Crowd wanted more out of Summer Glow
The call for more was not specific to the on stage performance of the International artiste out of Jamaica, Alkaline, but rather many shared the view that there needed to have been a few locals and another international one from places such as St. Thomas to make show the hit they were looking for.
The beach front was packed to capacity with persons who came out for a great show and according to several persons, the Virgin Islands is not at the level for a lone artiste like Alkaline.
“Especially when you going charge $40 to come in. They needed to put at least two more artists and the game would have been shot. Alkaline, Dj Dre and Dj Kuga wasn’t enough… definitely not enough. Don’t try the get rich tactic on us now,” said one woman.
Additional live entertainment was provide VIBE which brought the crowd to stage front before Alkaline hit the stage and VIBE was back again right after Alkaline left.
“But it was a good night for sure. Some of his music we don't know, but he did give a good show and I love him. His tattoo eyes are indeed sexy so haters don’t be hating, those eye are sexy,” said one woman who appeared to be in her late 30s.

Alkaline gets hyped welcome @ TB Lettsome Int'l Airport
BEEF ISLAND, VI – Even though his flight into the Virgin Islands (VI) was delayed by almost one hour Jamaican dancehall star Alkaline's fans were not deterred from giving him a ‘hyped’ welcome into the territory last night July 10, 2015.
The scene at the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport at Beef Island last night was one that heard the blasting of sound systems in cars and other motor vehicles with persons brandishing their favourite alcohol and other beverages as they rocked to some of their favourite Alkaline lyrics.
They waited patiently to ensure that it was no gimmick or prank about one of the top Jamaican dancehall artists was indeed going to turn up for his debut show in the territory to perform for them.
They were assured when the saw the presence of some of the promotors arriving sometime after 10:00pm and a number of vehicles branded with the promotional posters all parked at the airport.
As Alkaline made his exit for the arrival lounge at the airport the action started with phone and other cameras flashing and several persons including a number of children rushing to get their selfies as the Facebook pages were their target to start spreading the word that he is actually here.
He couldn’t hold his strong signature straight posing face as one woman managed to have him break out into a smile followed by some laughter when she went in for her selfie and said, “Smile for me just a little while for me,” followed by and her ice breaking statement, “Baby all I want is to hear your voice, just to hear you sing for me.”
Another said as she held on for her selfie, “Wow you are really a cute young man you know.”
This gave way to the belief that among the massive crowd anticipated for tonight would be persons curious to see for themselves his tattooed eyes, bleached skin and the work of art imprinted as extensive tattoos which decorate his body.
Alkaline will be performing on tonight July 11, 2015 at Myett’s Beachfront in Cane Garden Bay at “Summer Glow” as Five Star Promotions said that they are committed to giving the VI regular international entertainment and to kick off the summer.
Alkaline is known for hits such as “Move Mountains”, “123”, “Things Mi Love”, “Gyal Bruk Out”, “Live Life”, “On & On”, “Gone Away”, “Wifey”, “Wah We Ah Go Do”, “How It Feel”, “A Bagga Tings” and “Ride On Me”.
