UPDATE: Container with 'contraband' seized @ BVIPA wharf
Commissioner of Customs Mr Wade N. Smith told Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) the container with "contraband was imported into the territory."
He said HM Customs was assisted by the K-9 Unit in the operation at the BVIPA wharf.
No other information was disclosed.

Suspected illegal activities being investigated @ BVIPA
Information just reaching Virgin Islands News Online, September 13, 2021, is that a live investigation into suspected illegal activities is being conducted at the BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA) in Port Purcell.
It is unclear what exactly the suspected illegal activities are, although there are reports they are drug-related. VINO; however, could not confirm this up to time of publication.
Commissioner of Customs Mr Wade N. Smith confirmed reports of the investigation into illegal activities at the ports but did not give details since he said the investigation is ongoing.
Mr Smith also confirmed HM Customs is leading the investigations.
The BVIPA has reportedly been closed to customers as a result.

Such is a customary accurance. No surprise. More evidence of corruption or some other norm.
They don’t need to see who is picking it up. It came with a B/L and they can see who it is consigned to and who shipped and paid it. It’s not like posting a letter anonymously
