UMi Paints Funky Friday Pink
The message of the growing need for all to support the cause took the form of displaying pink fashionable clothing for all occasions and in recognition of the work that the BVI Cancer Society (BVICS) has been doing the crowd roared every time President of that society Ms Gloria A. Fahie took to the catwalk.
In the words of Ms Deborah O’Neal, proprietor of UMi Fashion, “let’s hold it up not in the literal sense but as we salute those persons living with, affected by or have survived the dreaded disease cancer.”
She said that UMi has always been an ardent advocate and will continue to do so in whatever form possible as a corporate citizen.
There were others who teamed up with UMi yesterday for the promotion including Barefoot which gave away lots of prizes and tickled the throats of those who dared to with some of their finest beverages.
Bows for the cause was another feature that was on show with bow ties for guys and girls and the beautiful decorative bows for the hair. The promoter of this business has committed a percentage of proceeds raised from sales to go towards the BVICS.
On and off the catwalk Ms Fahie was loud in praise for the support the VI has been showing towards persons how are still battling to get their lives as normal as possible by accessing the necessary care, treatment and support as they fight various forms of cancer. She emphasized that it’s not easy but said that having a caring network of people supporting the cause gives strength to those who need it the most.
Ms Fahie has won her battle being a survivor and having trodden that road knows just how to fit her foot in the shoes of others.
She continues to encourage persons to do their best to support the BVICS as funding to assist persons most at need is very critical.
Persons who shopped at UMi following the fashion show were treated to handsome discounts when they purchased throughout the night.
