Richards aka Tubby was shot outside his residence in Long Look on the evening of May 6, 2017. Richards succumbed to his injuries on May 8, 2017. Meanwhile, Springette aka Mooney was also shot outside the Wayside Bar in Fat Hogs Bay on the evening of June 21, 2017. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Springette had survived two earlier attempts made on his life.
After first swooping down on Shakeel Ryan and Shakilla Hanley charging them with attempted murder and murder of Springette and Richards, Police have now also charged Essadro Jefferson with conspiracy to murder Springette. The aforementioned two were also subsequently charged for conspiring to murder Springette.
At the time of laying the charge on Jefferson, he was already on remand at Her Majesty's Prison (HMP) for attempting to murder the same man, David Springette. Jefferson was ordered to appear in court for the new charge to be read to him but he refused to cooperate with prison officers to attend Court, telling them, "I don't feel like going no place today".
The spy and the shooter
On the other hand, when Ryan and Hanley faced the Magistrate’s Court on Monday July 31, 2017, they sat in the defense box expressionless as Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Kim Hollis, QC, reeled out how the CCTV busted them.
Hollis revealed that while police intelligence was able to conclude that it was the three who cooperated to murder the men, it was the works of Hanley and Ryan that resulted in the death of both Richards and Springette.
Caught on surveillance camera, the court was told that Hanley was seen circling the area in Long Look near Richards' home driving her rental car. Moments later, a man now identified as Ryan, ran up and shot Richards killing him on the spot. He fled the scene and Hanley was seen driving away around the same time. The Crown is convinced that Ryan fled in Hanley’s car.
Then on the day of Springette's murder, the same woman was seen in the area where the incident occurred. Again her movements on that day gave a clear picture that she was the look-out person to locate the victim as shortly after she was seen in the area, the man was shot. She left seconds after. In this instance she was in the company of others when she went to the Fat Hogs Bay area where the victim was.
The case against the three will continue in the Magistrate's Court on September 6, 2017.

Girl, there is no such thing as the perfect crime. You did not pull the trigger but, you are just as guilty. You out smart yourself by thinking the cameras was not working. Cameras don't lie. Big brother CCTV is always watching. I saw somewhere where someone said use their tax dollars for more CCTV cameras, I agree. Use my tax dollars also to cover the whole Island with cameras if they have to.
Keep up the good work.
It, you will get snatched up.
