Trial for alleged chain robbers likely to be traversed
At the moment, presiding Judge Indra Hariprashad-Charles is out of the jurisdiction on official business for one week and prior to that the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) had commenced a trial until a month after the assizes had opened.
Restack Prince Evans and Deshawn Matthew are alleged to have robbed a tourist of his jewellery while he was walking in the Baughers Bay community on December 4, 2010.
The jewellery worth $2, 200 was subsequently recovered. Both men have legal representation and are on $25,000 bail with one signed surety each.
