ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Despite a petition with some 55 allegations against him made by fellow officers and others, Commissioner of Police Mark Collins remains optimistic for the new year 2024.

The Commissioner in his New Year’s 2024 Message said he remains grateful for the privilege to serve the VI community and that the past year has been one of both challenges and triumphs.

VI community spirit a beacon of strength - Mr Collins

“In the face of various obstacles, your commitment to community and unity has been a beacon of strength. As we embark on the journey that is 2024, I want to reaffirm the RVIPF’s unwavering commitment to your safety and well-being,” he added.

“Our dedicated officers are fully devoted to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and service. Together, we will continue to work tirelessly to create an environment where every resident feels secure and protected.”

Further, the Commissioner added that in the pursuit of public safety, he recognises the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and the community and that vigilance, cooperation, and trust from the public are invaluable assets that enhance our ability to address challenges effectively.

“We encourage you to engage with your local law enforcement officers, participate in community programs, and share information that can contribute to a safer and more secure Virgin Islands. 2024 holds the promise of new opportunities and challenges, and the RVIPF is prepared to face them head-on.”

Commissioner facing 55 allegations

In early December, a petition was signed by some 30 persons in the Virgin Islands, including officers in the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), calling for the removal of the Commissioner of Police from office, with the justification being 55 damning allegations made against him.

It remains unclear if any investigations have been launched into the allegations or the current status of the petition.

Meanwhile, Mr Collins said that as the force continues to evolve its strategies and foster partnerships that strengthen the fabric of the community, a commitment to accountability remains steadfast, and the force will keep the people informed about its initiatives and progress throughout the year.

“In closing, I want to express my sincere gratitude for the continued trust and support of this territory. Together, we can make 2024 a year of prosperity, security, and unity. Wishing you a Happy New Year filled with peace, joy, and safety,” Mr Collins added.

I fully agree with you and I will explain why. When last any of you saw a white person be investigated & arrested by these white UK Governor & COP, taken to court, and jailed? The answer is clear and easy...Not ever. Look at what happened in the Frandy matter and that says it all. The Governor alone can pardon persons in jail with no transparency, accountability nor due process. How many white folks were ever in or are in the BVI jail? Hardly any. Those who were there were pardon after being allowed to write the Governor to request such. All request by blacks were denied. The record will show not one black person ever got pardon from jail by the Governor...only the white men. Now all of you can disagree with me but the statistics and facts are there to support why these colonizers can never be trusted but they good at blinding the people and keep us off of them by dividing us and having us fight each other so we have no time to fight them and their wickedness.

The white people and Asians and Middle Eastern people tend not to be in jail because they are not the ones dealing drugs and shooting each other.

This man is the only public officer in the history of the BVI who have so many allegations and grievances against him by so many including his peers and the Governor refuses to put him on leave and have an independent investigation. This is total abuse of power.

If a local or Caribbean person had done or be accused of only a quarter of what this man has been alleged to have done they would have been arrested long ago and put before the courts to explain themself.

He can allegedly destroy evidence with no independent investigation.
He could lie to the public about the out post police stations not being closed like the public saw & reported without any penalty.
He could cover up using the police boats to transport in and out the BVI non police officers or officials of the BVI.
He could could cover up for his kind island hoping using the police boats while getting drunk.
He could have 55, allegations against him but get away with all without an independent investigation just by talking and clearing himself while others are not afforded the same luxury.
He has challenges with the truth but always gets away with it with no repercussions.
He has divided the police force worse than ever and is allowed to do so.
He is using his powers to instill fear in the people of the BVI rather than ensuring their safety.
He goes after anyone who challenges his rule and those person's have no recourse.

The list of concerns about this man is long. He needs to be put on administrative leave right away and an independent investigation be done on him and his performance or lack thereof.

This guy thinks the majority of people in the BVI are fools. When he is drunk talking with his friends it is clear he thinks nothing of the people of the BVI. He is a real colonizer. He sees the people of the BVI as possession and not people.

Once the Governor and his UK Head of Police hears anything negative against any local or Caribbean person they believe it and file it as Intel and immediately act on it. However, when they hear anything negative against them and their color they file it as nonsense and discard it forever. This is racism in its truest form.

This man is a very dangerous man and becomes more dangerous when he is challenged and exposed. He knows the Governor has his back no matter what and he is using that to forward their agenda in any shape and form without any true and meaningful accountability.

Less than what this slippery man is doing and is accused of other public officers are suspended or arrested and then investigated. This is not fair at all. This is not encouraging but the Governor is the Head of the public service and they have their agenda. This agenda is not about good governance like they want us to believe. It is about the domanice of one race over another.

Collins has more officers, money, & resources than any other Commissioner of Police before him, but yet he has produced the fewest meaningful results. He has mastered the public relations game to make us think otherwise but the record is there to show he is a failure and a man who is extremely challenged with the truth.

The top cop is a monster, a cancer, that has been fed, clothed, and housed, by the UK-appointed, unilateral governor, engaging in preserving the colonialism ‘Lost Cause.’ The top cop have lost all credibility with the people he was appointed to serve and protect. More importantly, he has lost the support, confidence of the men and women he is tasked with leading. Any leader who has lost the support and confidence of the people he/she is leading is a failed leader. And for good of the organization such a leader should resign if he/she truly cares about the organization. The top cop is out of his depth and time to head back to his flat in the UK. This quote by the top cop is an oxymoron, “ “Our dedicated officers are fully devoted to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and service. Together, we will continue to work tirelessly to create an environment where every resident feels secure and protected.” Is the Governor Designee, Daniel Pruce going to protect the poor leadership, and incompetence of the top, for he is a fellow Briton and part of the cabal as Governor Rankin has and is doing? Would black local or other person of African descent be given the long rope with which to operate? No, No, No. The top cop had any decency or professionalism he would resign and be gone. Good riddance!!! The colonialist fled with Usain Bolt speed away from the bird sanctuary but now want to roost in the bird sanctuary. The neglected and forgotten bird sanctuary is the destination of choice. We must be vigilate.

Insanity is believing the same people who fooling us over and over, and over again… Columbus got lost and fool off the Arawaks and Caribs. What happened to them. The Arab, Moors, European,,etc traders fooled off the African tribal leaders. Millions of Africans ended up across the Atlantic as slaves. Slave masters fooled off slaves and more importantly sexually abused, raped, separated and sold off their families (not seeing them again), deliberately keep uneducated/illiterate, fooling them about being on a civilizing mission. Colonialism and colonialist fooled the slaves and their descendants and continues to fool us. When will be learn, shed the training wheels,,develop out self-empowerment, unite,,partake in group effort….etc..

The time all of the BVI people including some of them officers take there to be on top of Collins everyday, look at the BVI and Force on a whole. All of us know the BVI and the police force been corrupt for years under every local and UK commissioners, the government been corrupt under every chief minister and the list goes on. The truth of the matter is, the BVI is a good place but it has corrupted leaders and it been so from the time of memorial. I agree the police force needs an independent investigation. There are still corrupt officers in there dealing with drugs and the drug men and they need to start from the top come down. The first deputy he ain’t no saint and he ain’t no different than Mark Collins. He is like a wolf in sheep clothing. The street man them know and them can tell you that but them ain’t ready for he. He ain’t going to get away like he other partner.
