Thornton Smith nominated for Corporate Law Firm of The Year for The British Virgin Islands
Founder & Principal of THORNTON SMITH, Mr. Jamal S. Smith, indicated that simply being nominated by clients and peers is an incredible honor and a rare opportunity for a new start-up firm. “It demonstrates that within the corporate community the quality of work we do is in the same category of past winners and other nominees, which is a humbling achievement in just our first year of operation.” THORNTON SMITH, a full-service law firm in the British Virgin Islands has recently worked with a few major international clients placing it on the opposite side of other respected colleagues in the industry who all work to advance the successful corporate reputation of the British Virgin Islands.
The selection for this award has been ongoing for the last 3 months based on a strict criteria which includes the number of votes cast by business professionals and lawyers who subscribe to Lawyer Monthly magazine and The Economist, as well as looking at various other supporting material, documented activity, innovation in law and strategic vision among other things. The final round of selection will take place shortly to determine the winners who will then be notified. In addition to the amazing peer recognition and support from corporate lawyers, the firm is also grateful to the Registrar and staff at the Registry of Corporate Affairs in the British Virgin Islands for their diligence and hard work. THORNTON SMITH continues to seek to exceed client expectations by enhancing public-private collaboration that has been the bedrock of the success of the financial services sector for over 30 years.
