The Migration Cycle

The best analogy for assessment of Virgin Islands migration policy is the UK. Native Britons including Britons of foreign ancestry born in the UK are appalled at the changes in the landscape of cities from Manchester to London.

Whole communities appear to have transplanted from Afghanistan and Pakistan on to the British Street. This is causing a great deal of animosity. There is even talk of civil strife. Why this conundrum? The failure to adopt a thoughtful approach to migration.

Paradoxically, the idea of establishing parallel communities is a very old British idea that evolved from colonialism when the British Aristocrat existed in a type of splendid isolation in the colonies.

OK. When a Virgin Islander, child or adult migrates to a hostile and racist country such as the USA to find opportunity, there is misery.

In the meantime, in the Virgin Islands, a child’s safe paradise of an island and home. An alien takes up the cosy existence he or she should have held.

The Virgin Islander will probably never return, and when he or she does, he is so Americanized he will never settle back into the native culture. This is demographic and cultural change in action.

Then there are migrant practices where some are forming enclaves- communities within this community. It has happened in the UK with whole neighbourhoods and towns taken over by migrants from Muslim Asia.

In the Virgin Islands, they fish the waters illegally and adopt practices such as only shopping within their own community and using lax planning laws to crowd into apartments. Others go back to their countries to marry their cousins to create a new tribe of their own people in the Virgin Islands.

When they open a business, they frequently employ their own people and adopt a colourism and racism that is rife in their home countries.

These migrants view the native population as an inconvenience. They go away to bring in brides, and are from clearly incompatible cultures with that of the host culture.

This is what has happened in the UK.

Paradoxically, for the UK, it has driven this very same expat culture in the former colonies.

Today in the UK, that cycle has returned to its original position with aliens from mostly West Asian countries adopting a parallel existence; the result is political upheaval, and even talk of civil war. The world is a cycle.

You're a wise soul. Don't mind the noise. The ignorant will call you an idiot without any compelling perspectives to counter-argue. I am sure you're witnessing the same trend developing in the Virgin Islands. A word for the wise.

Where he says “they” shouldn’t he say “we”. He is, after all a fellow immigrant!

I agree with you 1000%, something needs to be done about it. I recently made a comment in regard to keeping Indians out of the BVI and was called a racist, Indians and Muslims especially should be excluded from being granted residence in the BVI, they DO NOT ASSIMILATE with the local population, Indians are the MOST RACISTS PEOPLE ON EARTH and Muslims brings their culture that is not COMPARABLE with our western standards, That is not to say other nationalities should not be property vetted before being granted residency. I have lived in the US most of my life and I have seen how those two groups mentioned have acted and is counting to act especially towards the Black population in the US. We also see how they are destroying the UK and other European countries, as a Virgin Islander I would not like to see Indians and Muslims gain a foothold in the BVI.St Thomas is a perfect example of how Indians operate, take a look at the old Virgin Islands Hilton Hotel and see how many local Virgin Islanders live there.
    • you can take that stance.... (02/05/2026, 20:01) Like (2) Dislike (2) Reply
You can take that stance but remain consistent when the same thing happens to you and I highly doubt you can be consistant because you are ready to play that race card right now.
      • Race Card? (02/05/2026, 21:23) Like (2) Dislike (2) Reply
Migration and race are not synonyms. Many anti migrants in the UK and elsewhere are blacks who understand the impacts of flawed migration policy. So please zip it. The only people who view this natter through a racist lens are mischief makers who benefit dubiously from a bad migration matrix.

Because its people like you that as soon as Trump does eactly what you are advocating here he is called what....wait for it ..Racist. So dont give me that crap. I said remain consistent at least then you would have some credibility.

This guy is an idiot. You cannot be a foreign born Briton, that is a contradiction in terms.

Trying to appear smart? Put those words in quotes. A Briton of foreign ancestry can be born in Britain like the writer- so zip your ignorant trap - there really is a decline in the British standard of education today.

Zip your trap the only decline is your mental faculties . Igwe is a foreign tether who is appealing to the most base instinct so that no one notices that he is an African and his homeland has been in shambles and cant get it together for decades , relying instead on blaming the UK and other Countries for their plight.

Idiots like you spew with zero information on the subject- you are either a bitter a--b of which there are too many in the BVI or a stupid SA of which we know of already
