Tellon Brewley must continue visits to Sandy Lane - Magistrate
According to the allegations against Brewley, which were read by Crown Counsel Herbert Potter, Police officers were on patrol on March 12, 2013 and received information that there was drug dealing taking place on the basketball court at Purcell Estate.
A group of young people reportedly began to move away from the scene of the incident with the arrival of the officers.
It was reported that officers smelt cannabis when they arrived at the scene of the basketball court. The officers then told the youngsters of their suspicion and their intention to conduct a search.
During the search a black leather handbag owned by the defendant was searched and a clear plastic bag and clear dime bags were allegedly found containing vegetable matter deemed to be cannabis.
The defendant was asked who the cannabis belonged to and allegedly confessed that it was hers. She was later arrested and charged for the offence of possession of an illegal drug.
The substance was subsequently weighed and found to be 30g and given an estimated value of $30.
Brewley was told that although there was a positive report, she needed to continue her attendance at the Sandy Lane Centre for an additional two months.
She was asked to return to court on July 12, 2013 for an update on the matter.
