Derol Redhead, playing as a makeshift striker, capitalized on a defensive lapse to put the ball past the formidable Monty Butler to give Sugar Boys the win in front of their home crowd.
The game, as expected, was a physical affair and a player from each side was ejected. Michael Castillo of Sugar Boys and Valdo Anderson of Islanders were the men given marching orders.
The championship game was a repeat of teams in the 2012 final; however, Sugar Boys had won 5-0.
Islanders had got past Ballstarz and Sugar Boys had beaten Rebels FC in the 2013 semi-finals.
