According to a press release from the Ministry on Monday, February 10, 2025, in preparation for Valentine’s Day on Friday, February 14, 2025, persons should “love safely, wrap it up and get tested”.
Week-long campaign ahead of V-Day— Public Health Officer
Public Health Officer, Ms Renee Leonard, in the press release, said with the rise in STI cases, the ministry is educating the public about what is happening and how they can be protected.
She said Valentine’s Day is a good opportunity to continue the ‘Wrap It Up’ message as it is considered the day of love.
“The week-long initiative is designed to share information, heighten STI awareness, promote testing and illustrate to the community their responsibility to love safely,” Ms Leonard said.
Eureka Medical & Sapphire Health partner with Ministry of Health
As part of the campaign, the Ministry of Health has partnered with Eureka Medical and Sapphire Health to promote testing.
Special Valentine’s Day deals are being offered to persons who would like to know their sexual health status.
“Knowing one’s sexual health status is key in reducing the spread of STIs throughout the Territory,” Ms Leonard said in thanking the Ministry’s partners.
She also encouraged everyone to pay attention to the information and heed the Ministry’s advice.
“Take ownership over your sexual health. Be faithful to one faith partner, use barrier contraceptives, know your status and enjoy your day of love responsibly,” Ms Leonard advised.

I’m not wishing any STD’s on anyone. However, you men and women that is out here laying down with each other in the raw deserve what you have to deal with. The BVI is filled with STD’S. HERPES, AIDS, GONORRHEA , SYPHILIS AND CRAB LICE. A lot of you parents who have teenage girls and boys in high school you need to have them tested every month at the health department for STD’S because they are &^%$ as well.
