Stimulus list being circulated ‘inaccurate & incomplete’- Premier Fahie
The list also claims that the farmers and fisherfolks named received certain amounts. There are also reports that some of the names included are of deceased persons.
The publishing of the inaccurate list has been deemed as ‘mischievous’ and ‘political games’ by some persons whose names are on the list and who spoke to our newsroom.
Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie (R1) addressed the controversy on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, calling the list inaccurate and incomplete.
Inaccurate & incomplete
“The Government of the Virgin Islands has been made aware of an inaccurate and incomplete list that is being circulated with information apparently including fisherfolks and farmers' names and amounts received for COVID-19 Fishing and Farming Stimulus initiative.”
According to the Premier, the authenticity of this list is being examined “as discrepancies have already been identified by the requisite authorities, which raises a major red flag.”
He said a “review” on the matter is being carried out to bring clarity and accurate information to the public.
“Upon completion of the review of this entire matter, further information will be made available.
“The Government of the Virgin Islands continues to assist numerous persons and businesses during this ongoing global pandemic in a transparent and prudent manner that will withstand the test of time.”
Lawsuit?
Meanwhile, one of the persons whose names appeared on the list said she was highly upset that her name was published, noting that while she is aware that persons can go for the information at the relevant Ministry, names should not be publicised in the media.
She also said she was considering a lawsuit, although it is unclear who it will be against as she was not clear who publicised the list.

As for the lady who is vexed her name was published.... SIT DOWN... you clearly didn't need the stimulus, you clearly received it when it was not due to you, you took it. Now that this is public knowledge you're upset and going to sue? PLEASE! You should never have taken it. And if you did and now you're embarrassed that everyone knows... GOOD!
These Crabby individuals who constantly broadcast these malicious reports will continue to feel justified in their wicked deeds if they are not caught and brought to justice. Only in places like these, is this behavior allowed to fester and go unpunished. In America and elsewhere these individuals would be arrested and penalized and a class-action suit would detour future copycats, because the law-enforcement authorities in other countries are much more equipped to find the offenders and bring them to justice.
May God help Us!!!
Anywhere else you get government money under false pretense you behind get laws with the FEDS. But here it got to be glorified because who getting all the money vex that they get exposed and want to call wrong right. The Sh..t messed up
Simple see.
When ndp was giving out money anything was publish? Set of dirty minded people
Andrew, along with his pronouncements should have offered proof then and there by publishing the " accurate list " and have the responsible party for dispensing this stimulus I list, right the
re beside him in agreement.
So ,far, have not heard from any on the list claiming non receiipt.
Would the new list be published? if so when. As many of the people at Paraquita Bay wondering if they names had leave out of the list. As they are farmers some twenty,twenty-five, and thirty years farming. While everything was mashed up during the hurricanes, no one help those farmers. For months no water, and to wake up to find a list going around with people who has no farm, never farm a day in them life and fisherfolk who has never gone to fish getting stimuilus. This is just heartless. We need the new list publish.
