VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI - A Virgin Gorda man was yesterday, October 23, 2020, taken to the Nurse Iris O'Neal Medical facility after a brutal beating by two men while at a social event for the St Ursula Holiday on Lee Road, Virgin Gorda.

According to eyewitnesses, the complainant was at the bar when he was allegedly maliciously shouldered by a man with whom he had an old grievance.

Sources said the victim allegedly shoved the assailant which resulted in a fight breaking out in the bar resulting in another man stepping in and further added to the severe beating.

Bottles used as weapons

During the fight, whole and broken beer bottles were used as weapons and the victim suffered multiple cuts about his body, the most severe being a wound behind the head.

Organisers were forced to end the event ahead of the scheduled time and least two persons were arrested and subsequently released pending further police investigation.

VINO will bring more information as it becomes available.

Tortola bars had a meeting. Bar owners have to be responsible. This particular bar have been violating all the time. The sauce there is speedily heating up. The owners dont play by the rules and always get away

Where is the love some people love to talk much about? "Nature's Little so called Secret" is being exposed, for what it really is, to the rest of the world. I am still unsure why these places are still open especially if persons are not adhering to the guidelines.. the Premier need to shut them down and teach them a lesson ..it’s things like this that causes lock down.. our BVI have become a cess-pool of I don’t know what..

I am so disappointed in the Police. They shouldn't be getting no bail....If the police move soft and easy these stupid nonsense will continue...... especially the one who instigated the fight. Also the one who stepped in to help instead of part the fight. Why did they get released?...The Police need to go and re arrest these men. Pls stop blaming the Bars for mature people bad behavior.....

Bar is to blame for having inadequate security. Additionally, charges should be laid against bar owners for having so many people in one place that didn’t adhere to social distancing and the wearing of masks. Hold the businesses responsible for managing their patrons. If we don’t make an example of the violators all the sacrifices made would have been a total waste of time.

Premier, Environmental Health, do you all know why these fights are breaking loose in these bars weekend after weekend? Because you all putting pressure on the churches (people of God) and allowing these drunkards to run wild. The church is there to pray for the nation, but the focus has been on the churches to keep them closed. Talking about God and quoting scriptures and persecuting God's people is a double standard. God forbid we don't have any deaths at these bars/night clubs because the devil is alive mostly in these places.
    • @ Peaches (24/10/2020, 23:30) Like (8) Dislike (1) Reply
God never intended for the church to be God to stay in the building. We are the church. Mark 16:15, KJV: "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

God uses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. The pandemic has forced the church to utilize technology to reach millions.

There is a double standard where God's good name is being used for personal gain. Why do you call me Lord, Lord, yet don't do what I say? (Luke 6:46).

That society could think that the wool could be pulled over God's eyes when doing so or just not caring what God thinks to satisfy worldly desires is reprehensible.

You got people agreeing with man instead of agreeing with and doing what God says then making jokes about 2020 and still not getting their life in order. The same people shunning God's commands and agreeing with the Pope (a man ...how many priests have raped little boys) are the ones who quick to call on God when things go wrong, take pics in their "Church Flow" going to get their "Sunday/Saturday blessings" as if that's an automatic pass.

Do not be deceived: God is not mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. (Galatians 6:7-8)

The many problems that are accuring daily throughout the world, including brutal murdering of humans, are the norm, no different in the BVI. ethnicity varriations that include skin colors are not the central reason why humans behave savagely against each others. The root cause our rivalry and hateful violations of each others rights can be found recorded in a Volume of Books labeled named the Bible. Read it. Believe it. Learn from it. Practice it principles, by subjecting ourselves under the Architech and Author of its righteous and Holy principles written in it. Only when we agree to humble ourselves under God, our Father and Creator orders, will we be empowered by His Holy Spirit, the Spirit of love, peace... Whether in the bars, the stips tease clubs, the home, the office, the church buildings and every other places that humans gather, wicked behavious will continue and encrease among men, whose minds are being controled by Satan, the architech and author of all disorderly behaviours among humans. Only by subjecting to the following offered, will lasting peace be manifested among humans. FOR GOD SO LOVE THE WORLD,THAT HE SENT HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT ALL WHO BELIEVE IN HIM (AND GENUINELLY PRACTICE HIS COMMANDMENT LOVE) SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. JOHN 3:16.

Same slime over and over. Degrading these islands and its people. These skanky holes in the wall and their patrons have never been a part of theVI culture. There are places with patrons where people eat drink and commune with no offensive and barbaric public display. This degrading aspect is repeatedly a contribution by,the same demographic. Why is the Gov insulting BVIslander with invitations and cooperative blindness to this sore on the community? Where in the alleged Christian filled elective Gov does it justify this blight on our decency?
